Interactive Issues: Resolving Empty Student Schedules
An empty schedule in your student’s interactive dashboard can be a concerning issue, but it is often easily resolved. Here are the most common causes for empty student schedules on PrimaryLeap and how you can address them effectively. Common Causes and Solutions for Empty Schedules Auto-scheduling is Disabled Problem: If auto-scheduling is turned off, no courses will be automatically assigned to the student’s schedule. Solution: Enable auto-scheduling by visiting the 'My Account' section and selecting 'My Settings' at the top. Look for the auto-scheduling option and turn it on to ensure courses are automatically lined up according to the student’s current educational needs. Completion of Available Courses Problem: Occasionally, a student may complete all the courses available for their current year age, resulting in no new courses being auto-scheduled. Solution: To continue the educational progress, consider advancing the student to the next year's group. This can be done by adjusting the student's learning age in their profile settings from, for example, Year 3 to Year 4, allowing access to new courses suited to their advanced learning stage. Issues with Auto Scheduler Problem: Technical glitches or issues can occasionally disrupt the auto-scheduler. Solution: If you suspect a malfunction with the auto-scheduling system and the above solutions do not resolve the empty schedule, please contact our support team for assistance. They can help diagnose and fix any underlying issues. Manual Course Assignments If auto-schedule is disabled or if you prefer a more hands-on approach: Manual Connection: Parents or teacher admin accounts can manually connect students or student classes to any course on our website. This is particularly useful for tailoring the learning experience to specific educational goals or needs. Understanding Completion Blocks and Missions Completion Blocks: To prevent overwhelming students with too much content at once, courses are broken down into smaller, manageable blocks of lessons. Missions: From the student’s perspective, these blocks are presented as missions. Each mission represents a small series of lessons from the next course, allowing students to achieve and celebrate smaller milestones, which helps maintain motivation and engagement. Why Is a Subject Locked on My Student Dashboard? To resolve this issue and unlock the subject, consider the following steps: Check Auto-scheduling: Ensure that auto-scheduling is enabled. You or your administrator (parent or teacher) can check and adjust this setting by navigating to 'My Settings' in the 'My Account' section of the dashboard. Update Year Group: If all courses for the current year group are completed, advancing to the next year group may be necessary. This adjustment can typically be made by your parent or teacher from the student profile settings, granting access to new courses and lessons suitable for your advanced learning stage. Contact Your Educator: If you are unsure why a subject is locked or if the above solutions do not apply, it is a good idea to speak with your teacher or educational administrator. They can provide specific guidance and possibly manually assign courses or lessons to your schedule. Empty student schedules can be a temporary setback, but with the right settings and interventions, they can be quickly resolved. By enabling auto-scheduling, adjusting student learning ages, or manually connecting courses, you can ensure continuous and effective learning.
